Global Heart Hub’s Manifesto Published in ESC’s European Heart Journal

Global Heart Hub is delighted to see its manifesto for early detection and early diagnosis of cardiovascular disease published this week in the European Heart Journal. The manifesto is the first patient-led, global patient perspective on the necessity of early detection and early diagnosis in CVD. It is the output of a meeting of 125 international patient advocates who came together with a multidisciplinary group of expert opinion leaders at the annual GHH Unite Conference in Barcelona last year. The manifesto calls to action are not only grounded in real-world patient experiences and priorities, but also aligned with the latest clinical guidance and evidence, reinforcing its relevance and potential impact on health systems worldwide. Global Heart Hub’s patient-led manifesto, Achieving early detection and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease: A manifesto for change, was developed collaboratively by 125 international patient advocates, from across as many as 40 cardiovascular patient organizations with support and input from leading clinical leaders, healthcare professionals, researchers and policy makers. The manifesto is not only grounded in real-world patient experiences and priorities, but also aligned with the latest clinical guidance and evidence, reinforcing its relevance and potential impact on health systems worldwide. If adapted to the needs of populations living with cardiovascular disease, the manifesto should guide political advocacy and shape improved health outcomes and foster greater sustainability of health systems.
