Global Heart Hub Team Spotlight: Teresa Glynn
Teresa Glynn is one of the original members of the Global Heart Hub team, joining the organisation in November 2019 when it was in its start-up stage and bringing a wealth of experience to the organisation at a time of critical development. Today Teresa holds the role of Senior Executive of Strategy and Partnerships with Global Heart Hub.
Based in Galway, Ireland, Teresa has been fortunate to experience a fulfilling and exciting twenty-year career in the medical technology industry where she held numerous leadership roles in communications, customer engagement, partnerships and philanthropy.
Throughout this diverse experience, all of which related to supporting patients, Teresa realised her passion aligned greatly to patient advocacy and she wanted to use her experience and skills to advocate for those living with or affected by heart disease.
“I was fortunate to join Global Heart Hub in its very early days, and I was delighted to have the opportunity to get involved and be part of the journey in shaping the organisation to what it is today. My passion lies in connecting a multidisciplinary community that collaborates and advocates for patients to be recognised as equal stakeholders in cardiovascular healthcare”.
When asked about the journey of navigating true meaningful change, Teresa advises “collaborating with patient organisations and other stakeholders is key to driving meaningful progress in the pressing issues facing the cardiovascular patient community, and through engagement with our partners, we are striving to be the leading voice for the needs of heart patients globally”.
As a member of a start-up organisation it can often be tough to stay motivated and maintain momentum but Teresa never seems phased, “These days I am very excited by our growing and committed team at Global Heart Hub, and I’m inspired by our community of patient organisations and partners globally that collaborate and share knowledge and experiences in advocating for the best possible outcomes. I feel very fortunate to be part of this amazing community and believe the possibilities and collective potential are transformational”.
Outside of work, Teresa loves to walk by the sea, spend time with family and friends, and enjoys travel.
