Global Cholesterol Action Plan – 2023 Highlights
In 2023, Global Heart Hub’s Global Cholesterol Action Plan surpassed 100 signatories, building momentum and support to reduce the impact of unhealthy cholesterol levels around the globe.
The Global Cholesterol Action Plan, developed as part of GHH’s Invisible Nation project, aims to reduce the impact of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Supporters of the Action Plan include World Heart Federation, European Atherosclerosis Society, FH Europe Foundation and patient organisations across the globe. Our 103 supporters, from across 41 counties, will receive specially developed training materials to help them activate change in the way ASCVD is prevented and treated in their country.
Other 2023 highlights include:
- Launch of new patient-led research to bring attention to unhealthy cholesterol levels.
- A two-day Patient Experience Data & Patient-Led Research Training Workshop.
- Five new languages added to our Invisible Nation website.
- Over 300 million opportunities to see the Invisible Nation project across global media and social media.
- Focus on ASCVD at the 3rd Unite Annual Summit.
- Increased press coverage and focus on ASCVD.
