Global Heart Hub launches new patient-focused Clinical Research Initiative

Global Heart Hub’s Heart Valve Shared Decision-Making Published in Health Research Policy and Systems

Global Heart Hub (GHH), the international alliance of heart patient organisations, has launched a new Clinical Research Initiative with trusted clinical research information and a Clinical Trial Portal to empower the cardiovascular disease patient community with the knowledge, tools and opportunities to be active participants in shaping the future of cardiovascular care.

The Global Heart Hub Clinical Research Initiative aims to make cardiovascular health research more accessible and relevant. “Patients are essential partners in research.

Clinical trials are a critical step in advancing treatment, improving outcomes and saving lives, but only succeed when patients are informed, involved and participate,” says Neil Johnson, Executive Director, GHH.

When patients are engaged in research, the outcomes are better — a reduced burden of disease, with treatments which meet the ‘real life’ needs of the community they serve. With input from the patient community, GHH has included trusted information about clinical research on our website, and developed a user-friendly Clinical Trial Portal, adapted to local languages and tailored to feature cardiovascular disease trials available in individual countries.

Register now for the Webinar, “How can patients engage in heart health research?”

Join us for a webinar to introduce Global Heart Hub’s new Clinical Research Initiative, a major step forward in empowering cardiovascular patients around the world to access and engage with clinical trials.

  • Hear from patient advocate Rhonda Monroe (USA) as she shares her personal experience of participating in clinical trials and talks about how patients can become essential partners in research.
  • Nursing professor Krystina Lewis (Canada) will talk about how clinical trials work and why it’s so important for patients to participate.
  • Regulatory expert Alexandra Poulsson (Norway) will address ethics in clinical research and explain the systems that are in place to ensure patient safety.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to see the resources available from Global Heart Hub – trustworthy information for patients about clinical research and a user-friendly Clinical Trial Portal to allow patients to search for cardiovascular disease trials in their country.

Whether you’re already well informed about clinical research or just beginning to explore this topic, this is a valuable opportunity to be part of building a stronger, more connected patient voice in clinical research.
