Clinical Research & Trials
Introduction
Introduction
At Global Heart Hub, placing the patient community at the heart of everything we do is more than just a philosophy—it’s our purpose. As part of our broader commitment to patient engagement, which is the active involvement of people with lived experience in healthcare policy, design and decision-making, we have developed this clinical research and trials resource to empower the cardiovascular disease (CVD) patient community with knowledge, tools, and opportunities to be active participants in shaping the future of cardiovascular care, and the care of connected conditions.
This initiative is a key pillar of our patient engagement work, reinforcing our belief that patients are not just beneficiaries of research, but essential partners in it. Clinical trials are a critical step in advancing treatment, improving outcomes, and saving lives—but they only succeed when patients are informed, involved, and heard in a meaningful way.
Through this resource, we aim to make clinical research more accessible and relevant. We provide clear, trustworthy information about:
- What clinical trials are
- How they work
- Why your voice is essential to driving innovation that reflects real-world needs
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or living long-term with a CVD or a related condition, understanding clinical research empowers you to make informed decisions and become an active partner in your care journey.
To further support patient involvement, we offer a user-friendly clinical trial portal. In partnership with nearly 150 patient organisations worldwide, this tool is being adapted to local languages and tailored to feature CVD trials available in individual countries—ensuring access is both local and meaningful.
This resource reflects our mission to elevate the patient voice at every stage of the healthcare journey because when patients are engaged in research, the outcomes are not only better—they’re truly representative of the community they serve.
